ISSUE: Crashing after receiving any error message
We’re currently investigating reports that a small subset of players are experiencing a client crash whenever receiving an in-game error message. These crashes can occur regardless of what the error message is. This is rare, however! If you encounter it, please submit a help request.)
ISSUE: Receiving “Error 2.68.2" while playing
We're currently investigating reports that some players are receiving an "Error 2.68.2" when logging in and/or playing. We don’t have any additional details to share right now, but will provide updates as they become available.
KNOWN ISSUES
ISSUE: High PC temperature while playing
Although there isn't much we can do to directly fix this issue, we do have a suggestion that should help. The frame rate limit setting in-game defaults to 144; bumping it down to 30 or even 60 should help lower those temps a ton, especially when chilling in the lobby!
ISSUE: Receiving “Access is Currently Restricted” message at login
This error most commonly occurs when the country you have listed on your gaming platform (or have set in your gaming profile account) does not match the country from which you’re playing. Check out this article for more information. If you continue to experience problems, please submit a request.
ISSUE: Game fails to start and/or gets stuck on black screen
If you're encountering an issue where the game fails to start, it gets stuck on a black screen, and/or you receive a “LAUNCH ERROR: CreateFile failed with 32” message when attempting to log in, this is likely due to a compatibility issue with our Easy Anti-Cheat (EA) software. Please check out this article for common troubleshooting steps. If you continue to experience problems, please submit a request.
ISSUE: Unable to play Wildgate on Linux or Mac
This is intended. The only supported platforms and operating systems for Wildgate this time are Windows 10, Windows 11, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Attempting to run the game on an unsupported client may result in a crash (or simply not work at all).
ISSUE: Instability and crashes with 13th & 14th Gen Intel CPUs
There is a confirmed hardware problem affecting 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors (13xxx and 14xxx series) that manifests as general system instability and causes, among other things, Oodle Data decompression failures and crashes in games built with Unreal. Please check out this article for more information and troubleshooting steps. (Note that this is not a bug, and is instead a system requirement we must follow.)
RESOLVED ISSUES
ISSUE: Experiencing longer than average lobby queues
We’re actively tracking reports that some players are experiencing longer lobby queue times than average (between 2-3 mins). We’re verified one likely cause for this issue and have applied a potential fix. We’ll remain vigilant and monitor game lobby servers throughout the playtest period. In the meantime, if you’re continuing to experience lobby queues over 5 minutes, please submit a help request and attach a screenshot or photograph of your full game screen (ideally, this image should include your queue time and client ID information located in the bottom right-hand corner).
ISSUE: Receiving “Error 2.6.0” message when attempting to log in
We’re currently investigating reports that some players are receiving an “Error 2.6.0” message when trying to log into the game. This appears to only be affecting players who have one of our Spanish language options selected, and is sometimes alleviated when swapping back English. We don’t have any additional details to share right now, but will provide updates as they become available.
- Workaround: Switching language to English seems to fix this for most players. To do this on PC:
- Go to Wildgate - Open Beta in your Steam Library
- Right click and select Properties
- Copy -culture="en_us" and paste it into the Launch Options section
- Try launching the game again
- Note: If you change your in game Language, you will need to do this again before you launch the next time.
