What are the Basic Controls?

Keyboard & Mouse

The following are the default controls. You have the ability to remap most controls in the Options menu, as well as adjusting the aiming sensitivity.

Map

  • TAB: Open and close map
  • Toggle Labels: T
  • Toggle Cursor: Middle Mouse Button
  

Character Movement

  • W: Move Forward
  • A: Move Left
  • D: Move Right
  • S: Move Backward
  • Spacebar: Jump
  • G: Deploy Maghook
  • C: Teleport home to ship

Ship Movement

  • Space: Up
  • Left CTRL: Down
  • W: Forward
  • A: Left
  • D: Right
  • S: Reverse
  • Q: Brake
  • E: Boost
  • C: Toggle shields
  • 1: Rear View
  • T: Fireworks

Probes

  • Left click: Scan
  • T: Fireworks
  • F: Teleport probe home to ship

Aiming

  • Mouse to aim 
  • Left click to fire your weapon, turret or use multitool
  • Right click to aim down sights

Interactions

  • F to Interact
  • X to drop items

Weapons

  • 1: Select primary weapon
  • 2: Select secondary weapon
  • 3: Select multitool

Controller

There are three different setups for controllers:

  • Default - A well balanced control scheme.
  • Tactical - A control scheme that prioritizes tactical actions on the bumpers.
  • Bumper Jumper - A control scheme that prioritizes movement on the left, and actions on the right.
