Our moderation system, GGWP, actively monitors both text and voice chat to help track and identify inappropriate behavior. However, the fastest and most effective way to ensure action is taken is by submitting an in-game report when you encounter misconduct. Reports allow us to quickly review incidents and apply penalties to those who violate our rules. Your reports make a real difference in holding bad actors accountable and keeping the community safe, welcoming, and fun for everyone.
Submitting a Report
There are a few different ways to report players:
- While in game, you can open the options menu and click “Report” to report any other player during the game.
- If you get blasted by another player, you can report the person that killed you immediately after the kill by pressing X while you are waiting to respawn.
- If a game has ended, you can still report your past teammates. To do this, open the Social Menu, navigate to the Recently Played section, and click the name of the person you want to report.
- You can submit a report manually to Player Support. To do this, you’ll need the name of the player you want to report. If you have already reported via the in-game system, please do not submit a duplicate report.
- Note: Dreamhaven account link is required to report to support directly.
Reporting Categories
- Inappropriate Name: Any username that violates our Code of Conduct.
- Inappropriate Chat: Includes, but is not limited to, using offensive language, engaging in harassment, any form of discrimination, hate speech, threats, or discriminatory comments.
- Cheating: Cheats, hacks, bots, or unauthorized third-party software that gives you an unfair advantage.
- Griefing: This can mean a few different things - sabotage, giving up, not helping your team. etc. Our hope is that every player that starts a game tries their best to win.
The Feedback Loop
Once you report a player, that report goes into a queue to be reviewed by one of our moderators. We review and take action on reports as quickly as possible.
We do not share the actions that we take for specific reports. However, if one of the players you reported receives a penalty, you may receive a notification in game informing you.
Penalty Types
Warning: A warning is a message delivered to you in the client letting you know that your recent behavior has been problematic.
Short term mute: A short term mute restricts your ability to type or speak in chat channels for up to 1 hour.
Long term mute: A long term mute restricts your ability to type or speak in chat channels anywhere from 1 day to 30 days, depending on the severity of behavior as well as the past penalties received.
Temporary Suspension: A temporary suspension restricts you from being able to log into the game entirely. Suspensions can last from 1 day to 30 days, spending on the severity of the behavior as well as the past penalties received.
Permanent Ban: A permanent ban restricts you from being able to log into the game permanently. A permanent ban is the harshest penalty, and will occur only after severe and/or consistent negative behavior.
Appealing a Penalty
If you have received a penalty that you believe was unfairly applied, you can reach out to Player Support to appeal. If you have not linked your Wildgate account to a Dreamhaven account, you will have to do so before submitting your appeal.
Please note that we do not overturn any penalty that was correctly applied.
